Community Trust South is the guardian of your community endowment of over $224 million. We help a wide range of groups and people here in the south every year by distributing millions of dollars in grants, scholarships and community loans.

We operate under the Community Trusts Act 1999 as well as our own Trust Deed and distribute funding from our investment's income.

We've supported our community with over $186 million since we began in 1988.

ILT Foundation was incorporated under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957 on 9 August 2005. The Foundation was established primarily for charitable purposes.

It distributes gaming machine profits back to community organisations that fall within the definition of authorised purposes.Pursuant to the Gambling Act 2003, the ILT Foundation must distribute the net proceeds from its gaming machines only to or for an authorised purpose specified in its licence. It must also comply with the terms of its Trust Deed.

The ILT Foundation has the same six publicly elected Trustees as the Invercargill Licensing Trust, with the addition of two more Trustees. Trustees meet monthly to consider and make grant decisions.

ILT operates many businesses in the hospitality industry in Invercargill, including hotels, motels, restaurants, bars and retail liquor outlets, and also one motel in Dunedin and another motel in Christchurch.Our mandate is to provide quality accommodation, food, beverage and entertainment facilities for the residents of, and visitors to, Invercargill.Through our success and profitability, we ensure ongoing benefits for the people of Invercargill by returning a share of our profits to our community.

A further objective of ILT is to contribute to our community in a number of important ways.
These include: Donations and Sponsorship ILT and the ILT Foundation provide donations and sponsorships of approximately $8 million annually to nearly 500 organisations. Promotion of the Southern Region ILT actively promotes Invercargill and the southern region of New Zealand as a tourist and conference destination, with significant flow-on benefits for the community.
